We are in the midst of a pretty good baseball season right now. Of course, we are home to two of the best teams in the league. Even if we didn’t have such loveable teams, that wouldn’t be an excuse not to love the game of baseball.
Look, you have maybe a week at best before the basketball and hockey seasons end and don’t even start talking about football for at least two more months. You have to face the harsh reality; between now and late August, if you want some sports action, you are going to have to watch a little baseball.
No need for such a sour look, nothing is wrong with baseball. In fact, attending a baseball game can be pretty darn fun. They don’t call it America’s past time for nothing you know. Your New York Medicaid services company gives you several reasons to attend a baseball game.
It’s a Good Value
Because baseball teams play so many games, there are a ton of tickets to sell over the long season. This is good for you because it means you can get sets for pretty cheap. At least they are way less expensive than tickets to a football game. So going to a baseball game is a good value.
The Food
Because you spend less on tickets to see a baseball game, this leaves you more money to sample the ballpark cuisine. So depending on the ballpark, this means you can eat more hot dogs, more pizza and more clam chowder, whatever types of food you like.
If you are feeling peckish and have a sense of adventure, you could try the Sunrise Dog at Kauffman Stadium, home of the Kansas City Royals, where under fried eggs, cheddar cheese and white sausage gravy you will find a hot hog. At Dodger Stadium, the Tuna Poke Bowl is an awesome dish that contains ahi tuna served in a bowl with vegetables, edamame and a soy dipping sauce. Fenway Park is home to the Lobster Poutine Stak, which includes fries smothered in cheese curds, chives and fresh lobster meat.
Everybody is Friendly
Even if you know very little about baseball, you will still have a blast at the game. Baseball fans are generally very friendly and they are passionate about the game. They are more than happy to share their enthusiasm for the game with you.
You Might Go Home with a Free Souvenir
If you are lucky, you might get the chance to catch a foul ball or better still, a home run ball. That’s much better than anything you can buy at the merchandise kiosks.
And if you don’t get the opportunity to catch a baseball off the bat of a major league player, you could see somebody get hit with a foul ball because they weren’t paying attention.
Vitamin D and a Great Tan
Attending baseball games ensures you get your needed doses of vitamin D while sitting in the sun cheering on your team. And if you attend enough baseball games, you can cancel your tanning salon membership.
It’s a Great Place to Take a Date
It’s unlikely you will impress your date by taking her to a bar or restaurant, especially the ones you can actually afford. And taking her to a hockey game or football game might leave her a bit overwhelmed as the crowds get rather raucous and loud. Baseball games are pretty easygoing and the action is far enough apart that having a conversation is easy.
Like we pointed out earlier, ballparks are known for their crazy unique cuisine. We are sure there is something she wants to try while attending the game. And if you are real lucky, you might catch a foul ball or home run ball and hand it to her. How impressive!
Baseball games are also great places to take a date because you don’t need to dress up. In fact, shorts, t-shirt and flip-flops are the norm. Other sporting events and concerts might be fun, but they come at a higher price tag.
And if your date is growing tired of the game or suggests you two go elsewhere to continue the date, well, leaving early means you miss the after game rush.
